Day 23: Something Old

I was at work all day and out all evening yesterday. I also had a really bad cold and throat infection (which is actually worse today), so I fell asleep as soon as I got home and forgot to post :( This is what I had wanted to post:

Vibhuti and Kumkum. The boxes are obviously not old, but the contents are. My paternal grandfather (whom I never knew because he passed away even before I was born) had a job that involved crazy amounts of travel. Every time he visited a temple, he'd bring back a small packet of vibhuti and kumkum and add it to his boxes in the puja room. After he passed away, my dad continued the practice. And when I moved out of home, he gave me some of each from the collection. I am not really the temple going kind, but I remember adding some of my own from a temple in Coorg. So the contents of these boxes have been collected from many many temples across the country by my grandfather, my father and now me :)
